UB Librarians Develop Graduation Gift Ideas Selector

Fred Stoss and David Bertuca, two librarians in the Arts and Sciences Library at the University of Buffalo, recently developed a "Graduate Gift Ideas" selector. Bertuca states on the website, "You can buy a standard graduation gift, of course. But if you want a gift that really says something about a graduate's specialty or peculiar genes, please read on before doing the easy way out by buying a graduation sports car..."

The University of Buffalo librarians list as examples of unique gift ideas, a statue of the lovely "Francine, a study in languor," the Pillaged Village, or even a Hershey's chocolate diploma. Consumers are instructed to
go to the UB site and click the link to Graduation Gift Ideas where viewers will then be provided with a complete list of web sites that explain how to select a Graduation Gift, as well as highlighting 2005's top 10 Graduation Gifts.

Bertuca explains the the UB website includes a list of links to observatory gift shops, museum stores, math lovers, sites that feature gifts for actual or amateur biohazard managers, paleontologists, historians, musicians, biochemists, meteorologists, poets, artists, geographers and cartography enthusiasts.
